after buying four different air purifiers from the usa and the uk this one is the best. it is a vacuum for air cleaning. a must buy if the air around you needs cleaning. gets rid of cig smoke, cooking odors and lots more. has a neat remote control. has five different fan settings, low, mid, high, night mode, automatic. also has timer setting as well. one filter is only needed not three or four filters like the Honeywell HPA300 which not only needs four filters but needs a step down transformer due to Honeywell being from the usa. the Honeywell has no night mode and is loud whereas the vax 300 does have night mode and isn't loud. I have two vax and is great for personal use or great as a gift for relatives or friends.

Originally I bought this to use in the bedroom as a sleep aid. Thought clean air would be beneficial to my lack of sleep however, even on ‘Night Mode’ it’s still quite loud! A single press of a button on the remote turns the unit to NM and the lights go out all but one.. a white one (in a dark room) I’m sure you can work that out. As well as night mode it does have a timer so you can have it turn off by itself, handy! So it’s been moved to our lounge were we left it to work it’s magic with the door closed. Came back a few hours later and there was a difference in the room, it smelt different, maybe fresher but I could achieve that by opening a window... like we used to do! Does it filter the air? Well I guess that’s something we have to take Vax’s word for. However, the proof will be a full filter I would imagine. The Unit: The unit itself is bigger than we expected but this is not a bad thing, it’s not heavy (as such) and it’s quite stylish really, and it does kick out some welcome cold air in this heat from the top. There are two lifting slots either side to help move this around, the sides are high gloss so you wouldn’t want to go moving it without them. Are these worth the money? If you have allergies then maybe you would notice a difference but for us there was not much to note. I’m not knocking this product but for us it’s not worth the outlay. Would I buy this product again? No.Read full review

As this was given a best value Which? rating I had no hesitation buying it. The noise is loud when fast fan runs but the auto setting (default) doesn't keep it there long assuming the sensor is working. If it does stay on then you probably need it. Best to vacuum around before using to ensure it starts from a clean point. You can set the fan speed if you don't like the Auto setting. The night setting is very quiet and does not disturb our cats and dog. When someone smokes the red light comes on and the fan speed increases until clear then returns to green and reduces the fan speed. Only fastest fan speed is annoyingly loud, low. medium and night setting are ok. It's comforting to see the green ring illuminated as we live by a busy A road and have a smoker in the house. Not cheap but can be much more expensive - this is where Which? has saved me money.Read full review

In my mind it is up there with the very best. We bought one for the office. It transformed the air quality so we bought 2 more. I don't know how we did without them for so long. It is so well built and has sensors that do everything automatically. The remote comes handy in our meeting room. Design is first class with no buttons. everything is finger touch and intuitive. The built in ioniser kills bacteria and removes smells if any in the office. Its not small but the fan is super powerful in filtering the air.

Ive had this product a couple of months now and the filter light has appeared so i need to spend £50 on new filter which is far to much. Its very noisy on max speed and makes a high pitched noise on medium and the other setting are quiet but thats because its hardly doing anything. However when i go out and put it on max you can tell it cleans the air when you return. The dust in air has reduced but dont think it will change the amount you will need to dust as it wont on ionizer itll be worse but thats what its supposed to do. The auto does work well with smoke it senses smoke and will turn red and turn to max this feature is good for smoke it doesnt sense smell but if you use hairspray deodrant things like that itll also turn to max but i havent seen it turn on when it comes to smells from kitchen for example. I did start getting lately a haze in the air like a very fine smokey look in the air and a strange smell while on ionizer so ive stopped using the ionizer function. Vax told me stop using it and return it however unfortunately i didnt buy it from them because they where helpful but i got it off someone else and theyre not and i cant mention because i want people to see my review incase others get the same issues and theyll know its not just them as im not the first to mention this high pitched noise.Read full review
